    Glass balustrades are a type of glass barrier or fence that can be used on balconies, staircases, terraces, decking and landings. There are two main types of glass balustrade systems. The first consists of panels sitting between metal posts. The second is free-standing and rests without frames in a metal channel.

  • Does balustrade glass need to be laminated?

    Frameless glass balustrading has to be made out of toughened laminated glass. Those with a surrounding frame can use different types. At Toughglaze, we have a state-of-the-art laminating facility to enable us to provide the right kind of glass for free-standing balustrades.


  • Is balustrade glass safe?

    Yes. When installed correctly, toughened laminated glass is extremely safe. You can rest assured that a balustrade made with our glass is sturdy – and we offer heat soak testing for extra peace of mind.
