Aquariums are built in different ways but you'll often find that the base is made from tempered (also known as "toughened") glass.
Some fish owners find that over time their aquariums go cloudy, brown or green. There are several possible causes for this. It could be that you need a new or additional filter, that too much light is entering the tank or that you're overfeeding or overstocking the fish.
Annealed aquarium or vivarium glass can be cut. Toughened glass cannot be cut.
